Why am I paying more?

Jump to solution

My subscription for Antivirus Plus is coming up for renewal. I noticed on the McAfee site that there is a special offer for this product of £24.50 although I am being asked to pay the full price for my renewal of £49.99! I like Antivirus Plus and would like to renew my subscription but not at double the price - I could just as easily let my subscription lapse and purchase at the lower price as a new customer. Could someone please explain why I can't renew my subscription at £24.50?

Thank you.

If you have (Auto Renewal) turned on in your settings. Usually 30 days before your expiry date, you will be renewed at Full Price. To prevent such from occurring, you can go to Your account and turn off these settings before your expiry date.

Near your expiry date you could purchase the discounted subscription. Before installing, you would have to remove the existing software from your Control Panel/Restart and then run the latest MCPR tool/restart.  Then of course go to  your account and install your new subscription/restart.

                Uninstall with the MCPR tool.

Catdaddy,

First of all a big thanks for replying. I was hoping not to have to follow the path you're suggesting i.e. uninstall & reinstall Antivirus Plus. I would have liked to have been able just to renew. However, I appreciate your reply and will, of course, follow your advice.

Thanks again.

,

You are quite welcome   On occasions you can contact Customer Service before your expiry date, and ask if they can give you a discount. However I am not sure if you could get it at the price you quoted.
