Can't receive SMS verification code (been ongoing for almost a year)

Dear all,

Can anyone help me with this problem?

I have not been able to add my phone number to my profile (for security monitoring or for 2 factor authentication purposes). This is for my McAfee Total Protection.

Each time that I had attempted, no SMS verification code was being received from my end.

I've asked for help numerous times over the past year, and all the customer support do was create a ticket. There were no follow ups or any resolution.

We had tested another phone number (not mine) and it was able to send to that number; but we didn't use it for the obvious fact that wasn't my phone number. I swapped out and tried my SIM card on iPhone and Android phone. None of them worked.

Each time I talk to a customer service representative, they tell me it is a known problem, and they will create a ticket with escalation. Never hear back.

My problem is it's been a year since this problem has occurred. And silly me, I just renewed my subscription for another few years.


If nothing works to add my phone number, am I able to cancel the membership with the remaining months that are unused to be refunded?


That's how confusing my experiences have been that it's better to start fresh with a different provider. Please advise.

This issue of no SMS code verification has been around for so long. I have called the help desik so many times and each time I just received  completely useless statement saying that this is 'a known' problem.


WTF! Mcafee.


Solve the  **bleep** issue or stop selling this crap product!

An das McAfee-Team, welches an diesem Problem, das ich auch habe, arbeitet.

Nach eingeben der korrekten Telefonnummer inklusive Ländervorwahl, wird mir nach der Codeanforderung die Telefonnummer falsch angezeigt.

Richtig: +41 78...   oder 0041 78...    Falsch: 41 78...

Wenn ihr euer Programm dazu bringt die Ländervorwahl korrekt vor die Telefonnummer zu setzen ist es auch möglich Identifikationscodes zu erhalten.

Dies sollte eigentlich für Sie als Computerspezialisten eine leichte Übung sein.

Ich hoffe ich konnte Ihnen bei der Fehlersuche helfen.
